Brand tag (brand signage) after plating the physical properties of the spray oil will be plated and spray oil material and its process of the joint influence, specific performance is as follows:

1. Hardness
   Plating layer influence: plating layer (such as nickel, chromium, gold, etc.) itself has a certain hardness, can improve the wear resistance of the signage. For example, the hardness of hard chrome plating layer can reach 800-1200 HV, which can effectively resist scratches and abrasion.
   Oil spraying influence: The hardness of oil spraying layer (such as UV paint, polyurethane, etc.) is usually lower than that of plating layer, but it can be enhanced by adding hardener or choosing high hardness coating. The hardness of the sprayed layer is generally between 2H-4H (pencil hardness).
   Combined performance: The overall hardness of plated and then oiled signage depends on the synergistic effect of the plating and oiled layers. The plating layer provides the base hardness, while the oil spray layer provides protection and decoration.
2. Adhesion
   Combination of plating layer and spray oil: The surface roughness and chemical properties of the plating layer will affect the adhesion of the spray oil. Usually, appropriate surface treatment (e.g. polishing, activation) is required after plating to improve the adhesion of spray oil.
   Test standard: Adhesion can be evaluated by the 100-gauge test (ASTM D3359) or the grid method (ISO 2409), and high quality plating and spraying signage should reach grade 4B-5B.
3. Corrosion resistance
   The role of plating layer: plating layer (such as nickel, chromium) itself has good corrosion resistance, can prevent the base material (such as copper, zinc alloy) is oxidized or corrosion.
   The role of the oil-sprayed layer: oil-sprayed layer can further isolate moisture and corrosive media, but need to choose the excellent chemical resistance of the paint (such as fluorocarbon paint, epoxy resin).
   Salt spray test: plating after oil spraying signage should be through the neutral salt spray test (NSS, ASTM B117), high-quality products can withstand more than 48-96 hours without significant corrosion.
4. Abrasion resistance
   Contribution of plating layer: Hard plating layer (e.g. chromium, titanium nitride) can significantly improve the abrasion resistance, suitable for high friction environment.
   Influence of spray coatings: The abrasion resistance of spray coatings depends on the hardness and toughness of the coating. UV-cured coatings have better abrasion resistance than ordinary baking paints due to their high cross-linking density.
   Test Methods: Abrasion resistance can be evaluated with a Taber abrasion tester (ASTM D4060) or RCA paper tape abrasion test.
5. Flexibility
   Plating Limitations: Hard plating (e.g. chrome) is less flexible and prone to cracking on bending or impact.
   Compensation of oil spraying layer: Flexible oil spraying materials (e.g. polyurethane elastomers) can absorb some of the stress and prevent the plating layer from cracking.
   Application Scenario: Suitable for signage that requires a certain amount of deformation (e.g. curved surfaces, bent parts).
